Thank you for registering!

Make sure to bring plenty of water, suncreen, and at least a few quarters to wash the dirt out of your wheels. We always recommend bringing a lunch when you go RallyX, but Greenbrier does have plenty of options within a few miles along with a gas station w/Arbys across the street.

Directions from I 40.

Take exit 125 at Conway, and turn onto AR Hwy 65 North.

Travel on AR Hwy 65 N for approximately 11.5 miles.

Turn Right onto AR Hwy 285 (signs for Wooly Hollow State Park)

Site will be on the LEFT approx 1/4 mile after turn. (Look for signs / cones)

Schedule:

This is our typical schedule. RallyX is a bit more laid back than your typical SCCA AutoX. We're probably not going to be there much sooner than when the gates / registration open. If you show up first thing in the morning you might be by yourself. If you insist, feel free to move the cones over to the course site 😉

10::00 am - Registration opens
10:55 am - Registration closes
11:00 am - Drivers meeting
11:15 - 11:30 am - Timed runs begin.

- Please make sure children are accompanied by an adult that is not participating in the event at all times.

- Pets must be on a leash and accompanied by an adult at all times.

- Alcohol is not permitted on site during the event.

Like every rallycross venue in Arkansas, expect some dust as the course digs in. While care will be taken to remove any rocks, debris, and obstacles be aware when walking in the pits and course area. Drivers should take care not to deviate too far from the marked course. Everyone should be aware of cars on course during timed runs at all times.

Vehicle tech requirements can be found in the rallyx rulebook link above. Entered vehicles must display class and number information as described in the rules. Blue painter's tape is acceptable. Drivers should ensure the drivetrain, suspension, and braking systems for their vehicle are in good, working order.

While the exact tech requirements can be found in the rulebook, the main points to focus on first are:

1. Lug nuts. Make sure all lug nuts are in place and properly torqued.
2. Battery: Ensure the battery is in good condition and properly secured.
3. Seatbelts: Must be worn and functional.
4. No loose items in the cabin.

About RallyCross

What is RallyCross?

RallyCross is like our "Solo" autocross program, but on an open field or dirt. Drivers attempt to set their best time on an agility course marked by cones, and cars are grouped in classes based on capability and level of modification. Courses are a little more open and speeds are a little lower that autocrosses, but the emphasis on accessibility, safety, affordability, and fun is the same as SCCA Solo.

RallyCross differs from stage rally that many have seen on television. There are no jumps or ditches, and roll cages are not required. Drivers preview the course by walking it or going on a low-speed lead-and-follow lap, rather than following the pace notes of a navigator. SCCA RallyCross also differs from European-style rallycross, where drivers race wheel-to-wheel on a track. Our events are strictly one-at-a-time competitions against the clock.

RallyCross doesn't take the best single run like in Solo, but is a combination of multiple runs.

What kind of car do I need?

No special rally car is needed. Any fixed-roof vehicle passing a basic safety inspection is fine, so your daily-driven sedan on street tires is perfect for Rallycross. For safety reasons, rollover-prone vehicles such as SUVs, 4x4's, and many full-sized trucks will be allowed to compete only on a case by case basis. From the SCCA RallyCross rules:

A RallyCross event is open to any fixed-roof production based vehicle (including convertibles with a factory hardtop attached, targa types with factory panel in place, t-tops with factory panels in place) that can pass safety inspection. If the Event Chairman after consultation with the Event Safety Steward determines at his discretion that a vehicle cannot safely negotiate the course, it may be excluded.

Requirements

Work/Run Order:

RallyCross is a self-worked, volunteer-run sport in which competitors have to work a heat opposite their run heat. Prepare to be outdoors all day, and dress and prepare accordingly.

What You’ll Need

Entry fee.

Valid driver's license.

Anyone under age 18 on the site, participant or otherwise, must have their parents/guardians sign a SCCA minor waiver on site, or in the presence of an regional RallyCross committee member, board member, or notary public. Anyone with a restricted or learner’s permit must follow the requirements of the state where issued. If an adult passenger is required, it must be a parent/guardian or approved instructor. Safe vehicle per technical inspection guidelines.

Must wear an approved helmet during competition. We have a limited number of loaner helmets available. If you bring your own, it must meet one of the standards below (DOT rating alone is not sufficient). [cite current standards allowed, like the example below]

All helmets meeting the latest or two immediately preceding Snell Foundation standards (SA2010, SAH2010, SA2005, SA2000, M2010, M2005, M2000, K2010, K2005, K98), SFI standards 31.1, 41.1, 31.1A, 31.2A, 41.1A, 41.2A or British spec BS6658-85 type A/FR are acceptable.

Cars & Classing

RallyCross has a simple classing structure.

- Stock: FWD (SF), RWD (SR), and AWD (SA) - upgrades are limited to items such as cat-back exhaust, brake pads, clutch and pressure plate, and wheels and DOT-legal tires that are near stock dimensions.

- Prepared: FWD (PF), RWD (PR), and AWD (PA) - adds specific allowances for upgraded intake, exhaust, suspension, differential, wheels, etc.

- Modified: FWD (MF), RWD (MR), and AWD (MA) - almost any production car or logbooked racecar is allowed, with drivetrain and suspension being unrestricted.

If you are sharing a car, only two entrants may drive a car in a given class. A maximum of four entrants in a single car is allowed for the entire event. For example, two drivers could compete in a Prepared AWD Impreza, and up to two more could use the car to compete in Modified AWD during the opposite heat. This balance of drivers helps us keep the event flowing smoothly.

Review the SCCA RallyCross Rules and ask an event official before the event if unsure about where your car is classed. On the day of the event, your car number and class letters must be present on both sides of the car so that workers may identify the driver. Tape may be used to show Car # and Class, however, it must be wide enough and provide enough contrast to be easily seen by event staff.

From the Rulebook:

B. Size of Numbers and Class Letters
Numbers shall be at least 8 inches high, with a 1.5 inch stroke on a contrasting background (rear winged Formula cars shall have as large a number as possible on their rear wing side plates). Metallic (reflective) numbers and class letters are prohibited. The distance between 2 numbers shall be at least as wide as the stroke of the numbers. Class letters shall be at least 4 inches high, with a 1/2 inch stroke on a contrasting background.
